Proficient with principles of optical transport media and Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) communication
Knowledge of optical fibre characteristics like refraction, polarization, attenuation, dispersion, etc.
Well-versed with bands in optical fibre and their usability loss characteristics
Knowledge of signal strength and quality KPIs - design values and margins
Well-versed with functionality of optical equipment like cleaver, mechanical and fusion splicing kit, protection sleeves, fibre stripper, fibre reinforced plaster during splicing and jointing
Adept at functionality of optical test equipment like Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) and power meter
Knowledge of optimal values of OTDR, power meter and light meter test results
Proficient in understanding utility of As-build route diagrams
Adept at standard trenching, cable laying, pit preparation, splicing, jointing, blowing and back-filling process for installation of OFC cables
Knowledge of different types of OFC connectors based on the type of equipment
Proficient in standard process and need for performing duct integrity tests like air tightness tests and free tests
Well-versed with precaution to be taken while dealing while installation
